Match Report: Women’s League – Ipswich 21st April 2024

What a day our 4 girls had at Ipswich Eagles Cycle Speedway.

Maddie Saunders, Nat Goulden and Millie Shear were called up for the South West and Wales squad. But due to North and Scotland being unable to field a team, sisters Millie and Tilly Shear were asked to ride on loan to the North and Scotland squad in the Women’s League event.

The South West and Wales took the win ahead of the South East, with Maddie scoring 18+2, Nat scoring 11+1 out of the team’s 72 points.

In the individual event, Maddie and Nat swiftly made it through into the Expert A-Final. Millie qualified for the Intermediate B-Final and Tilly qualified for the Intermediate C-Final.

Tilly pushed her competitor all the way to the line in her final, just narrowly missing out the win! In the Intermediate B-Final, Millie took 2nd place!

Maddie and Nat lined up in the Expert A-Final side by side on gates 2 and 3. Maddie finished in 2nd place and Nat finished behind in 3rd after a tussle with her competitor.

Well done girls!
