Poole  109  Norwich 68

The scoreline belies a keenly fought and competitive match with the visitors battling hard against a rampant Poole team which was firing on all cylinders. An early tapes exit for Adam Peck kept the scoreline close for half a dozen heats but the hosts stretched to a 54-35 interval lead. The crowd enjoyed some text book team riding from World Champion Daniel Pudney in heats 4 and 7, with Ben Donohue and Mark Everingham also catching the eye before the break with two wins apiece.

Aaron Lowey burst through in heat 10 to give Dave Murphy the chance for a winning start to the second half and the run of heat advantages was only interupted in heats 13 and 16 when the visitors banged in race wins courtesy of the impressive Leigh Cossey and Ian Grange. Mark Everingham was forced to withdraw from the re-run heat 17 with a leg injury allowing reserve replacement Aaron Lowey to notch up a third unbeaten ride after the break. Skipper Chis Roberts teamed up with Dave Murphy for maximum points in the final race but as the scorechart shows, this was an all-round team performance and a victory which secures 3rd place in the Premier League table - a big improvement on the 2005 wooden spoon performance.

Scorers - Daniel Pudney 18+2, Chris Roberts 14+3, Brad Hoppo 14+2, Dave Murphy 14, Aaron Lowey 13+2, Mark Everingham 13+2, Ben Donohue 12, Adam Peck 11+1.

Division 2  -  Poole 80 Norwich 54

Poole tracked 4 unbeaten riders and chalked up a comfortable victory against a young Norwich side. This re-arranged fixture date clashed with a SW Junior League event at Swindon so a number of the regular Poole youngsters were otherwise engaged. Alex McLeod is improving with every ride while Phil Norwood is making steady progress after his recent injury. Adam Legge, Matt Chappell and Kev Lowman all used their experience to good effect and James Clanfield battled gamely despite being half the age of most opponants.
