With Poole having snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in the corresponding home match, the Aces just clung on by a narrow margin in the return at Ashmore Park to take the 2 league points. Yet again Poole surrendered the initiative in the early stages and staged a great fight-back to lead briefly mid-match. However, the home side capitalised on their good fortune as several movements at the grid went undetected. Dan Pudney was again on fire headed only once by an opponant but the back-up was marginally short. The inclusion of any one of the four missing squad members would doubtless have made the difference.
