Typical monsoon-like Manchester weather greeted the Sea View boys for whom Chris Roberts was disappointingly sidelined
at the last minute for the longest PL away trek to Bury. With Andre Cross and Rich Clanfield also unavailable, along with
Pete Young, it was just as well that Aaron Lowey was able to obtain a weekend pass from army duties and be "drafted" in to
help Poole record the double over their similarly weakened opponants.
Despite the heavy conditions there were some lively races highlighted by the win from the back by Dan Pudney on ex-British
champ Terry Norman and the superbly judged overtake by Mark Everingham on the home Polish star man Damian Zaremba. Other plus
points for Poole were a sterling captain's performance from new team leader Brad Hoppo and a lively return from injury from
Adam Peck. Trailing by 6 points at one stage, Poole gradually mastered the conditions and their opponants to pile on the pressure
with Dave Murphy capitalising on inside grids to bag a hatful. Speedy reserve Ben Donohue enjoyed the extra grip as he
and superfit Aaron Lowey wore down the opposition as the match progressed.
Scorers:- Dan Pudney 18+1, Dave Murphy 16+1, Brad Hoppo 13+2, Mark Everingham 13+2, Adam Peck 12+2, Ben Donohue 11+2,
Aaron Lowey 11+1,
Kev Lowey 2.
The senior squad absentees upset the balance of the Division 2 team and the penalty points conceded by Kev Lowey - who
was drafted into the first team as cover - were enough to gift the league points to the home side by a single point.
Aaron Lowey 18+1, Ben Donohue 16+1, Richard Chappell 14+2, Kev Lowey 12, Kev Lowman 11, Phil Norwood 3.
