The Saints arrived with almost a Premier strength team while most of the Poole senior squad had a 'day off'
for this local derby match. Highlights were the two clashes beween Richard Clanfield and Shaun Woodhouse which ended with
honours even at one win apiece. Ben Donohue had a painful start to the procedings as his chain snapped at the start of heat
3 leaving him in an agonising heap but he recovered well to win a couple of races. Kevin Lowman also ended up in an undignified
heap in heat 12 when Nathan Harris was guilty of using excessive force, earning his marching orders in the process. Kevin
had to withdraw from the rest of the meeting with a wrist injury which could sideline him for a couple of weeks. Rob Haywood
improved as the match progressed, finishing with two vintage wins.
