Hats off to the dedicated octet who kept the Poole flag flying while the Football World Cup held the centre of the sporting
stage for most people. The host club had no such problems with rider availability in contrast to their visit to Baiter and
the result of this return fixture was something of a foregone conclusion. Poole riders were caught out by the tight and tricky
Llanmartin circuit having got themselves into good positions on a number of occasions and the final scoreline failed to do
justice to their efforts.
