Poole   94  East Newport  82

There were riders missing from both sides of this match with Poole tracking only Pete Young from the team which raced Horspath at Baiter Park 7 days ago. The visitors were missing their two Polish stars which meant that Poole were able to build up a 10 point lead and hold on to their interval advantage despite starting from grids 2 & 4  for most of the match. Evergreen Rob Haywood once again underlined his racing pedigree and Andre Cross entertained the crowd with some quality team riding despite being under the weather and limiting his race appearances to 4. Comeback rider Matt Chappell teamed up with Andre to score 11 out of 12 in his first 3 rides before picking up two racing exclusions while Eddie Wilkins was a star turn despite his limited experience of first team racing. There were a few spills and exclusions after the break but the match was ridden in good spirit and was a good advert for regional league racing.  Adam Legge, Luke Armes and Richard Chappell all gave a good account of themselves at this level of racing.
