Poole 75   Horspath 100

This was a day to forget as far as the Poole senior team was concerned as any Premier League title pretentions were brushed aside by the powerful reigning champions from Oxford. Their Polish quartet put on a polished display - totalling 56 points - led by newcomer Lukas Jozwiak with an impressive 18 point tally. Horspath notched up 8 bonus points and took no last places and had too much fire power from the gate. Chris Roberts was little more than 50% fit and rode against doctors orders, completing only one ride before crashing out in heat 15. The loss of his his gating power along with that of 'army bound' Aaron Lowey was a decisive factor and the home cause was not helped by a succession of costly errors, falls and mechanical problems. This was a day when luck totally deserted Poole and while the margin probably flattered the visitors, the destiny of the league points was never an issue. Fortunately an early opportunity for revenge presents itself at Baiter Park on May the 14th in the British Team Championship when the two teams meet again - this team with no overseas riders permitted!
Poole scorers: Daniel Pudney 13, Adam Peck 13, Mark Everingham 12, Pete Young 11+1, Brad Hoppo 8, Richard Clanfield 8, Ben Donohue 8, Chris Roberts 2).

It was left to the Combination team to salvage some pride for Poole with their strongest line-up of the season racing to a superb 13 point victory. Although the visitors monopolised the race winners, Poole dominated the minor places with skipper Brian Holt and Irish International Kev Lowey leading an all-round team performance. The visitors conceded 18 penalty points by using Lukas Jozwiak from the first team match. Final score 79 - 66.
Poole scorers: Kev Lowey 11+2, Brian Holt 11+1, Luke Armes 10+2, Eddie Wilkins 8+1, Richard Chappell 8+1, Jessie Lamb 7+1, Adam Legge 6+1).
